It is always important to have patients see their physician before undergoing hypnotherapy. Knowing whether a condition or symptoms have a physiological basis can determine the therapeutic strategy. If there is no medical problem then, indeed, one would look for the emotional basis. If there is a medical problem, a basic understanding of it helps the hypnotherapist create a relevant metaphor to promote healing

I agree. Exercise is REALLY effective in order to go against depression and ease its effects on the person suffering from it. My therapist was able to discuss the benefits of exercising at times when I am depressed, and I am happy with its effects.

I was glad to see this article. Actually exercise was one of the only things
that helped with my depression. At first my reaction was to lay around sobbing
but then one day i tried a set of different exercises and I felt better almost
immediately. The trick is to make yourself start, even its one simple exercise a day.

Thank you for a wonderful article. I was inspired to write a blog after reading an article in the NY Times about a physician who prescribes exercise for depression. I was on my way to becoming a Psychiatrist until I was diagnosed with manic depression. Antidepressants did very little. My therapist helped a great deal. The one thing that did wonders was exercise. My therapist saw a world of difference in terms of my affect and other signs of depression. It really is interesting to read in your article about supplements which help motivate people to exercise. That is very helpful information to those who are too depressed to get themself to workout. Thank you once again.

This is by far the very best article I have ever read for panic attacks. I intend to use this process to try to get past
my feelings of overwhelm. I am 59 and was diagnosed with panic attacks finally when I was 39. THIS WILL ALLOW ME TO FEEL AS THOUGH I HAVE A TOOL TO HELP ME REGULATE MY EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. Christine
